Send Messages by Class Roster

  1. Click the MySJSU Sign In link and enter your SJSU ID and password
    The Faculty Center displays
    Note: These instructions opened in a new window. We suggest you click the MySJSU Sign In navigational link in your original window (at top of page) so you can still refer back to these instructions after you have logged in
  2. Click Send Messages
  3. Click Add a New Value tab
    The Message Detail page displays
  4. Select Class Roster radio button and complete all appropriate fields
  5. Click Look Up, and then select the class you wish to use by clicking the appropriate hyperlink
  6. Click Populate to populate the roster
  7. Click Select All to select all students on the roster
    Note: You can check individual boxes to select only a few students
  8. Click Deselect All to remove all checks
    Note: You must have at least 1 student checked in order for the message to be sent
  9. Once all fields have been completed, click Send to send the message
    Note: Use the navigation bar to see the full roster. A Send Confirmation will appear once the message has been sent
  10. Click Return to SJ Messaging to return to the message
    The Message Detail page displays
    Note: This is a summary of the message you just sent. If you review this information and determine you no longer wish to send the message, you may click Unsend. You can unsend a message at any time, but please note that students may have read the message already, and will probably have received a notification to their email accounts that they have a message waiting on MySJSU. These notifications are automatically sent every evening
  11. Click Return to Search to go back to the Find an Existing Value page
