Web Based Training

Using the San José State Learning Management System (LMS) by Synaptis, you are now able to take CMS training right from your computer. There will still be a number of classes that require a hands-on, instructor-led class, but some of the basics will be available here. We recommend that you complete these courses on a PC. If you do not have access to a PC, please contact the CMS Training Team, and we can arrange some time for you to complete the desired courses in one of our training rooms.

Important: Online classes require a flash player for viewing. We recommend the free Macromedia Flash Player. You must have administrator access to your PC in order to download this. Please contact your local tech support if you are unable to download the software. Once this is installed, you can proceed to the LMS.

Available Courses / Access Information

Please note that while completing a specific course authorizes you for specific access, your manager must sign the System Access Request form (pdf)  to confirm your need for the access.

Finance

• Introduction to Finance (FIN-FNOL01-Intro to PS Fin-WBT): Completing this course will authorize you to access basic information in the Financials system. It is also the required prerequisite for the Receiving class.
• Receiving (FIN-FNOL02-Receiving-WBT): Completing this course will authorize you to access the Inspection and Receiving functions of PeopleSoft Finance.
• Web Purchasing (FIN-PUROL1-Web Purchasing-WBT): Completing this course will authorize you to access the Requisition, Payment and Reimbursement functions of the Finance Web Component.
• Travel Reimbursement (FIN-PUROL3-Travel Reimb-WBT): Completing this course will authorize you to access the Travel Reimbursement functions of the Finance Web Component.

Human Resources

• Introduction to HCM 8.9 (Introduction to HCM 8.9 WBT): Completing this course will authorize you to access basic Human Resources information for your department. It is also the required prerequisite to numerous in-person courses.

Student Administration

• Introduction to HCM 8.9 (Introduction to HCM 8.9 WBT): Completing this course does not authorize you for any Student Administration access, but it does serve as the required prerequisite to all in-person Student Admin courses.
• Messaging (SA-MSGOL1-Messaging System-WBT): Completing this course will authorize you to send messages to students through SJSU's custom messaging component.
