My Password/Sign In Help


Password Expiration

Email messages are sent to notify you when your SJSUOne password is about to expire.

The first notification is sent to you 30 days prior to expiration and the second is sent 7 days prior.

The email will come from university.systems-group@sjsu.edu. Please make sure to add this address to your contact list so the email doesn't get sent to your spam folder.


Current Students

  1. Use your  SJSUOne account to sign in to MySJSU.
  2. SJSU ID: Use the 9-digit SJSU ID printed on your Tower Card.
  3. Forgotten Passwords: You can reset your password online at SJSUOne.
  4. Password Requirements: Your password needs to be between 8 and 28 characters long:
    • If your password is 8 to 16 characters long:
      • It can not contain spaces
      • It needs to contain at least one lowercase letter
      • It needs to contain at least one uppercase letter
      • It needs to contain at least one number
      • It needs to be uniquely different than previous passwords (do not reuse passwords)
    • If your password is 17 to 28 characters long:
      • No character restrictions
      • It needs to be uniquely different than previous passwords (do not reuse passwords
  5. Help: If you need additional assistance signing in, submit an SJSUOne Account Help Form.
  6. Note: Passwords will not be re-set by phone. Once we receive your request, we will respond as soon as possible—usually within 2 business days.


Open University Students

Use the User ID and password generated by the system to sign in to MySJSU. Activation of your SJSUOne account is optional.


Future Students (Applicants for Admission)

Alumni

  • If it has been less than one year since the end of your last semester, your account is still active. Use your SJSUOne account to sign in to MySJSU (as described above, under Current Students). 
  • If it has been more than one year since the end of your last semester, your account is no longer active. To request an account, submit a MySJSU Alumni Account Help Form
    Note: Accounts will not be provided by phone. Once we receive your request, we will respond as soon as possible - usually within 2 business days.


SLIS Faculty

You will still be able to sign in with your existing MySJSU ID and password.


All Other SJSU Employees

  • MySJSU: Use your SJSUOne account to sign in (as described above, under Current Students). 
  • Other Systems: To obtain sign in information for all other PeopleSoft systems, first complete any required training, then submit a System Access Request (pdf) form.
