Alert-SJSU FAQs

Help us reach you in the event of a campus emergency. San José State is implementing Alert-SJSU, an alert and warning communication system designed to notify you as soon as possible in case of campus emergencies. You can add cell phones with text messaging, cell phones, email accounts, land lines, and TTY/TDD devices on which to be alerted about emergencies. To add your information, log into MySJSU and click the Alert-SJSU menu item.

• What is Alert-SJSU?
• Am I automatically enrolled in Alert-SJSU?
• Will I receive spam or other information to the phone numbers or email addresses I list?
• If I change my main phone numbers or email addresses, do I still have to change it on the Alert-SJSU pages?
• How many email addresses and phones can I list?
• My cell phone uses an instant messaging service, such as AIM. Can I receive text messages that way?
• Will I be charged for text messaging?
