Get a MySJSU User ID & Password - for All Employees

When and how do I get my login information?

If you are an employee with no prior access and did not receive a User ID and password from the CMS Project team, please contact the CMS Help Desk as described below.

I have my User ID, but I forgot my password. What do I do?

Our Forgotten Password Help takes only a few minutes to setup. If you forget your password anytime in the future, you can have a new password emailed to you automatically - usually within 10 minutes. For instructions, see Setup MySJSU Forgotten Password Help. If you forget your password and have not previously setup the Forgotten Password Help, you can get a password reset by contacting the CMS Help Desk as described below.

My password expired. What do I do?

Passwords in MySJSU expire every 90 days for all employees. When your password expires, you can setup a new password. For instructions on how to do this, see MySJSU Password Changes & Expiration.

Contact the CMS Help Desk

We prefer that you request your login information by email. Please send your email request to the CMS Help Desk at cmshelp@sjsu.edu as follows:

  1. Subject: Your status at SJSU (faculty, staff, etc.) in the subject area. For example, you might use SJSU Staff Employee Needs Login Information
  2. Body of Message: Please include the following information in your email message:
    • Name: Your full name
    • Request: The information you are requesting (Name of database and whether you need User ID, password reset or both)
    • Verification: Please provide two of the following items for verification purposes:
      • SJSU ID (if known), this is the most unique thing about you in PeopleSoft, so this is ideal if you have it; found on the back of your Tower Card
      • User ID (if known), this is especially helpful if you need a password reset
      • Date of Birth, including year
      • Mailing Address, including street, city, state and zip
