When and how do I get my login information?

User IDs and passwords are mailed or emailed separately to students, usually within 4 weeks of receipt of application.

What if I never received my login information?

If this time period has passed and you have neither your User ID nor your password, you can get this information by emailing the CMS Help Desk as described below.

I have my User ID, but have not received a password. What do I do?

If you have a User ID, but have not received your password, you can get one by emailing the CMS Help Desk as described below.

I have my User ID, but I forgot my password. What do I do?

Our Forgotten Password Help takes only a few minutes to setup. If you forget your password anytime in the future, you can have a new password emailed to you automatically - usually within 10 minutes. For instructions, see Setup MySJSU Forgotten Password Help. If you forget your password and have not previously setup the Forgotten Password Help, you can get a password reset by emailing the CMS Help Desk as described below.

Note: Login information must be requested by email. Login information will not be provided by phone

1. Send an email to the CMS Help Desk at cmshelp@sjsu.edu and include the following information:
   • Name: Your full name
   • Status: Your status at SJSU (applicant, undergraduate student, graduate student, etc.)
   • Request: The information you are requesting (SJSU ID, PIN, PIN reset, User ID, password, password reset)
   • Verification: Please provide 2 of the following items for verification purposes:
     • SJSU ID/User ID (if known), this is the most unique thing about you in our system, so this is ideal if you have it; found on the back of your Tower Card
     • Date of Birth, including year
     • Mailing Address, including street, city, state and zip
2. Please wait at least 2 business days for a response. Please do not send a second email. Instead, see Response Time information below
3. Finally, please make sure that your email account will allow an email from cmshelp@sjsu.edu through any Email SPAM Filters you may have turned on. This will ensure that our response reaches you in a timely manner

Response Time

Note: Response time is only 10 minutes if you have previously setup your Forgotten Password Help. For details, see Setup MySJSU Forgotten Password Help

• Emails will be responded to in the order in which they are received
• You can expect a response within 2 business days of our receipt of the email. Please do not send a second email. There are several people responding to emails, and sending another similar email may cause confusion. For example, your password may get reset twice and cause you additional login problems
• If you have not received a response after 2 business days, please feel free to re-send the original email
